Welcome to the Weather Update!

This is a big suggestion which attempts to improve game play by adding more content while making it more difficult to survive. It will greatly test players and allow for competition with other players on the server. Recipes for the suggestions are up to discussion.

New Features:

Shelters - Types of homes you can create and go inside of, allowing you to decorate them and even change the tiles of your flooring. Going inside protects you from the outdoors, such as getting wet from rain. Warmth inside the shelter can only be gained and retained by a fire. Warmth is kept for a long time, but not forever. Depending on the shelter you create, will depend on how big your interior is and how well it insulates and protects you from the outdoors. Some shelters are even immune to fire. The better the shelter is, the harder it will be to break. Upon breaking, everything in the shelter will be destroyed and whoever is inside it will be tossed out and spawn on the rubble. Shelters will require a large amount of resources to create.

Weather - In addition to rain, lightning, heatwaves, and snow, there will be more harsher and rarer weathers such as hail, storms, and blizzards.

  • Hail - Would be similar to the shipwrecked DLC, however without a Hurricane season it should randomly, but rarely, appear during autumn, fall, or summer, but not winter. Hail can hurt you if it falls on you and will damage and potentially destroy structures, including some shelters, but not all. It will only last for a few minutes but can be deadly. To survive, hide under a tree, wear protective hat which absorbs damage which will take damage, or hide in your shelter. You get free ice if you survive!
  • Storm - A storm will be similar to the hurricane season in the shipwrecked DLC.It will rarely happen in autumn, fall, or summer but not winter and will last for about 1-3 days. Storms will have rain, strong winds, and lightening. Strong winds will occasionally extinguish campfires and firepits. They can also cut trees and plants, causing their resources to drop. The temperature will also drop slightly and with the wetness you may get cold and even go insane.
  • Blizzard - Blizzards will rarely appear in winter. Temperature will drop drastically, forcing you to stay in your shelter or near a fire. In order to go out in a blizzard, you will have to be fully geared in warm clothing.

Alter - The alter is a structure that you can craft which will allow you to sacrifice valuable resources in attempt to change the weather, whether it's to stop it or cause it. It will be mainly used to make it rain. However, it can also rarely cause bad weather to happen. Use at your own risk!

I'll add onto and improve the suggestion if it gains popularity...

To be continued...
