My suggestion is that you have a chance to catch with a cage after night a shadow baby (baby grue, picture below,the artist is 9CentsChange) and when you interact with the cage you have 4 option:
Leave
Kill= +2 flesh +1 shadow fur and a 1\100 chance to get a head for a trophy that tho it scared away other predators, well makes the grue more aggressive towards you at night
Release= the grue well be less aggressive toward you at the night
Tame= help gather more meat and fight enemy +10 damaged when baby +50 dam
aged when grown up, when baby you can carry on shoulder, you can ride it when grown up
