Suggestion: Trade event items / Buy chesten

Suggestion:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

I'm sad that you can not trade Event items, things that are no longer available are no longer possible to get trough trade / purchase ... I very much hope that this will be added that you can trade Event items with friends / other people!

At the moment you can only buy Skins / Items only in Events.... why not Chesten?! it seems a nice addition to buy chests than just to get through playing.

Sometimes its a sad feeling to have an event leave, so what better way to keep players happy than to have an option to continue playing them? I know that events are supposed to be time specific and when the times up the events over and so is the game mode, but it would be nice if after a few days or weeks the game mode will be playable in a completely different section. Maybe a button on the menu where its a film canister where when clicked it will allow you to chose what event game mode you want to play e.g. the forge, the gorge. ect. this would be a neat mechanic and allow new players to see what game mode they missed. of course they wouldn't be able to receive any of the chests from the event but it would be a neat little mechanic.

I think it's strange that only (Reign of Giants) is in DST, I personally like Shipwrecked, but I do not like it that I can not play with friends! and that I have already seen the Hamlet trailer, I am already hyped for this DLC! Suppose it comes to DST, I would not mind to buy a separate DLC for that... or if you bought it on DS then you get it for free or free items.

I know more people want to see this! please let it come truth!

Okey so i love to play dont starve togheter and all the dlcs and i am a really big fan since vanila came out but i would love to see an update for dst that is like new region and not just events(i really like events 2,but some people dont).I know they are working on Hamlet but if they dont update the game community will fall so pls post some ideas in here and hopfuly klei will see.DLCs are cool and i will play hamlet a lot but i dont want dst to be forgoten its not the same.And after people say they are full and cant update the original word thay dont know what are they saying cuz it can have a ton of updates and i have a ton of ideas as well.

Stacking items

So I've noticed that any meat (normal, monster, whatever) when left on the ground for some time combines into one stack which is pretty nice.

Other things should also do that like for example:

-Grass (grass gekko farms)

-Twigs (twigly tree farms)

-Spider gland, silk (spider farms)

These are the items that are mostly in huge numbers on the ground and are pain in the butt to collect (long time picking up)

Hi,

I know this might not be so easy to do and probably never going to happen, but eh. Who knows...

With all the new great content mods that have been released on the Steam workshop lately (Island Adventures, Volcano Biome ...), it becomes more and more common to get 'out of memory' errors.

I noticed the game crashes usually at 3.5 GB usage even though I have 8 GB RAM, and suspect this could be solved by making a 64 bit version.

 

This might sound like a very fancy request, but there is no more sad feeling than having downloaded so many great mods and knowing that I will never be able to play with them all.

The Mecharge

Mecharge is an event about a shadow maze filled with clockworks

The Event is for 6 Players

Rules :

No Weapons inside the Mechanica.

Collect 10 Gears to leave. (If WX-78 eats them then he will be will be killed instanly.)

If anyone is found killing clockworks they will be killed instanly.

 

Abilities :

Wilson : Is Gentle ( 1 Garland )

Willow : Has Firewood ( 1 Extra Board ) 

Wendy : Prepared more food ( 1 Extra Meat Stew )

Wolfgang : Ready not to eat ( Slurper Belt and a Green funcap - blueprint included )

WX-78 : Can Shine ( Magiluminescence )

Wickerbottom : Has one book for the occasion ( Sleeptime stories )

Woodie : Built some armor ( Wooden Armor )

Maxwell ( I will be him and spectating the game )

Wigfrid : Has some roots ( Only Helmet and extra meatballs )

Wes : Runs pretty fast ( Walking Cane )

Webber : Killed something ( 2 Healing salves )

Winona : Collected mushrooms ( 2 blue mushrooms and 1 green )

 

Charlie will be waiting for you...

 

If someone has ideas for the characters then make the ideas not too buffed and ways the other characters wouldn't just be too underpowered


Skin Suggestions

I think it would help Klei's artist if we all post drawings and suggestions on Elegant skins. I started on two for the next Snowfallen sets for the characters that didn't get snowfallen sets. I thought everyone else would have suggestions as well so i wanted to make a form to just that.

 

Post below what you want to see in the game in terms of skins of characters or items.

I'd love to sit on something within the game. Giving a chance for people to sit together and probably raise sanity, a couch would be a nice addition.

I've always been on and off with DST for years now but in 2018 I gave it my all and got really hooked especially during the Gorge. But while I played normal survival a certain feeling of longing always quivered in the back of my head while playing my favorite character in Don't Starve, Woodie. When I first made the switch from single to multiplayer it was quite funny like "Oh beaverness goes low to high not full to empty." and that pesky -90 SANITY/MIN sure is a fastball drastically differing play style. However Klei compensates by granting sanity regen for every tree you plant which becomes this terrifying race as you swap from out running  shadow creatures and stopping to plant trees without any armor. But hey now his beard insulates... to a point that makes no difference big enough to warrant the use of not using proper seasonal clothing. Finally to end on a high note he can befriend followers for a longer rate which is noticeable compared to his fellow teammates and pairs well with the immersion of camaraderie and being TOGETHER. Even though I enjoy this refreshing asymmetry amongst the characters between games this has brought a huge nerf upon Woodie and hindered his output as a team harvester/collector. Insult to Injury was definitely blown with Wickerbottom and Maxwell stomping in productivity and retaining play style from their single-player counter parts. This has caused Woodie players to be outcast and mistreated in play when we were just dealt a bad hand. This clear disadvantage has polarized parts of the community and made woodie a inferior pick to some peoples' eyes and made the jump from Don't Starve to Don't Starve Together a little less accessible. Here's a suggestion make DST Woodie as similiar to DS Woodie. 

We can take the first step towards congruency by removing perks that pinholed his play style, lowering his viability. Tacking on the insanity aura to beaver form is like pouring vinegar into a wound. Beaver form already had inherent drawbacks that prevented staying in one form. The Beaver could not use inventory, lost the ability to use structures, and dropped all equipped items. By taking away this aura you take out two birds with one stone because that also takes away the need to rapidly recover sanity after exiting beaver form by planting trees. This vulnerable transition leaves you unequipped, and already under attack which was only a worst case scenario in DS but if you want to compete with another collector in the current version you have to use as much time in beaver form as you can. Another perk that can go away is his beard insulation. Not only is this stat too small to protect you from the elements but his cursed form accomplishes the goal of increased insulation from the elements, the only problem is that you can't stay in the form safely for nearly as long as in DS. The next analysis is to look at the two variants of beaverness.

In DST beaverness is visible at all times. It drains from 100 to 25 (not 0 as would be expected) and then in beaver form you have to constantly be striving towards transforming back or risk reaching 0 beaverness and feel equivalent effects of starving to death. In DS Beaverness was only seen as a beaver and substituted everything else helping lock in the feeling of controlling a savage and primordial beast. No care for health, sanity, or hunger you were a beaver living off the land chopping, mining, and digging with no need for durability. Both versions are very easy to slip into the beast which ties very well with stories tending to carry a message that it is very easy for man to turn guttural and corrupted. Although the DS version resonates with the same theme that a resisting those urges and coming back to your senses takes time or having the wind knocked out of you like when the Hulk was beaten to a pulp by Thanos so badly he turned back to Bruce Banner. Turning back into a human should not be a instant transition it should be culture shock think when tom hanks returned in Cast Away. A fitting addition to losing up to 2/3 in all stats is that woodie should return asleep and have an extended groggy period. This vulnerability is much more fitting to a monster slowly being destroyed by everything mother nature has at her disposal compared to the feeling of a man coming back just the way he was but maybe a bit more loony running away from creature of his own mind. 

Final conclusion. Take away beard insulation (pro), tree planting sanity restoration (pro), the meter that shows how close you are to transforming (pro) and the insanity aura during WereBeaver (con) in exchange for a more immersive Beaver that can be sustained longer, collect way more resources (pro) by reverting to the DS Woodie but transforming causes grogginess instead of a timeskip and compete with other collectors without nerfing. All at the new expense of turning back the old way of losing up to 2/3 of all stats.

I already posted this on the Steam Community forums and the one response I've gotten so far was positive, so I'm posting it here so that it will more easily be seen by the devs. For this idea, I'm literally just adding one new mechanic, all stats of both Woodie and the Werebeaver stay the same number-wise. However, when in Werebeaver form, regardless of your actual Sanity level, you will not suffer any of the actual EFFECTS of insanity until you transform back to human. This way, all of the established non-combat perks of the Werebeaver become more relevant since you're not constantly forced into a combat situation. If this is too much of a buff, just remove the sanity gain from Woodie planting pinecones(thus making sanity harder to restore once you change back to human, which would've likely put you at 0 sanity if you'd been a Werebeaver for any significant amount of time.

Skin set saves?

I noticed something when going through the hassle of picking skins for a character, it takes a long while to pick skins. Instead of hassling, why don't you add a side panel where users could have skin sets of their choice so they don't have to click different skins and have a personal wardrobe of predetermined sets of the user's choice?

Just something that would let users present their own fashion sense and take only a minute to choose if they already have a skin set.


Klei Skin Shop?

What if they make a store that sell skins? Maybe skins packs like "Guest of Honor Pack" or sell separate skins with a fixed price and fair for all? Klei could have 100% of the profits.
Different from the community market on Steam, the skins are deliveries via codes or something of the kind or in-game you are allowed to use them.

Because sometimes it's too expensive buy a skin of $10 if it actually costs 2$? I think it's a cool idea having a skin shop instead of a Steam Market where people sell White T-Shirt for 100$ kek.
 

Curio Items Unlocked for a period of time

Basically the title says it - a period of time (a couple of weeks perhaps) during which items from all events would be purchasable as skin packs or maybe even weaveable. I'd guess there are plenty of people who missed an event and now they have to wait an indefinite amount of time before they can get the curio items. This can also be a good way for Klei to raise some extra money I guess... There isn't a lot of purchasable items right now... 

P.S. I want to do this in-game so badly ;-;

I don't know, but I have an idea for an event. But can someone like, and someone there is no. So here is ivent Fear. I called him. The point is that Willow, Wilfrid, Wolfgang fall into the medieval world of birds who want to capture the shadows and the darkness. The heroes need to kindle the furnace, to reinforce the power of the Podium of the Great fire, to banish the shadow of evil forces. They have to get fuel and fight along with the shadow waves to get the ruby to consolidate the effect of the furnace. The idea is presented here quite raw, but can someone interested.)

So, I was listening to the amazingly composed Gorge music (In-game, menu) by Klei, and thought "Hey, I miss this event. The music was great." Then I brainstormed. 

So here's my idea.

Gramophone/Record Player -

2 Wooden Planks

Iridescent Gem (Or something late game, make it a painful to achieve luxury)

12 Golden Nuggets

1 Jet Black Feather

Quote: "Re-live the songs you forgot you knew"

Relative shape to the Gramophone we see in the finishing of the 5 trials in Don't Starve. When interacted with (Left mouse button click) a menu relatively identical to the wardrobes menu pops up, showing 2 bars (adaptable to future -orge events) labelled Gorge and Forge. when one is clicked, it will list the events Menu/in-game song name for the player to click. once picked, the screen will go and the stylus will drop onto the record and the music will play. it can be heard clearly from 10 tiles, then fades away the further the player goes (unhearable after 18 tiles). maybe you could do after 1 hour of listening the stylus will break and can be replaced with any type of feather.

I'd love this to be implemented and I'm sure other people would agree with being able to hear the in game music after the event has ended. Because Klei, whoever you're orchestra is, they somehow create masterpieces every single song - no imperfections.

A few new Cosmetic Structures

Hello dear Wilsons and Willows,

I wanna propose a few ideas that are mostly cosmetic and could fit the game really really well!
So let's get right into it

1. The Phonograph
- "Tune your life how you wanna"

Pretty simple, you can make a Phonograph using Boards, Cut Stone and some Gold Nugs. The Phonograph doesn't do anything on its own, but when you get close to it you'll get a new Crafting Tab! In said Crafting Tab you can create Vinyl Records with some 1 Cutstone, 2 Charcoal and a Special Item which will determine its record. Those can be put into the Phonograph and played on a Loop if you are one of those that can't get enough of a certain soundtrack! This obviously has a certain Range set to it. Click to Activate and Deactivate the Phonograph. Here are a few Records I thought of:

2. Mannequin
- "We're playing Dressup!"

This one is simple as well! Throw in a Pumpkin, some Grass and a few Logs and you get yourself a Pumpquin. You can put any Hat or Body Armor on it just to display it. Item's won't lose durability and you can show off your swag! As an Example you can put a Bone Helmet and Bone Armor on it and you don't have to necessarily use or put it down somewhere unguarded

 

3. Showcase Pedestal
- "All alone on a pedestal of sorrow"

Pretty simple too! Throw in a bit of marble, some petals and silk and tada you got an Item Pedestal. You're free to put any non equipable item on it to showcase your swag, you can also put food on it, but that might end up as rot sooner or later. Maybe you could make like an iced version and keep things cool on it? I don't know! Anyways this could show off some swag like the Shadow Atrium or Shroom Skin if you don't want to necessarily put it on the dirty floor
