Add the Steamed Ham Sandwich from Hamlet

Klei should add the Steamed Ham Sandwich to Don't Starve Together, the meme is too great.

Reasons:
1. It needs foliage as one of the recipes to make it, right now foliage in the game doesn't have that much uses, you can make a potted ferns and eat them, i feel like adding them to recipes would make them more useful.

2. Asparagus is already in the game from the new Warly update and that originates from Hamlet.

3. Two Hamlet food items made it to Don't Starve Together as well, the Vegetable Stinger and the Asparagus soup, so why not add a third Hamlet food item?

4. The recipe is all vanilla items, no fancy Hamlet items required to make it.(recipe at the bottom)

5. It is a great hunger and health item, only healing 40hp and filling 37.5 hunger and 15 sanity.

6. Ferns are not easily renewable until late game, the only way to get more is via the Forest stalker and tumbleweeds. So it balances the recipe out even more.

7. It's based off of the Steamed Hams Simpsons meme, just like the potato cup trinket was a meme and so Klei decided to add it in the game as a trinket. In Dst we LOVE our memes, it makes the game even more fun that way.

Thats it with my reasons which is quite a few, I also made a poll in general discussion about this topic so make sure to vote there for even higher chance, it's going strong so far! So at the bottom is pictures from the Don't Starve Hamlet Wiki of the Food stats and recipe requirements, the info may be inaccurate since the wiki can be changed.

Add Dynamic "Gloves" (Or Lack of Gloves) Skin

The design of skins was relatively simple awhile ago, but have been getting progressively more complex. The same could be said about the newer character appearances in DST. The old and new skins are able to be mixed around with next to no issues. The only one that I notice is that a lot of the old skins cover everything but the head, including hands (typically making them white or black). There were no problems with this since only two of the original eleven (twelve if you count Winona) didn't have white hands. That is not the case anymore though. With two of the three new characters not even being human, and the other new character being a noticeably different skin color than the old cast, this has lead to having situations where body items being worn on certain characters or skins have hands that don't match (as shown below)

My idea is to add a skin for the hand slot that is a normal hand that changes color based on what skin or character is wearing them. This is also a way of having bare hands with body item skins that include gloves already.

Obviously this is a lot easier said than done, and I know skins aren't your biggest concern at the moment. There probably isn't a very practical way to implement this but I figured it couldn't hurt to at least suggest it.

Bigger Ice box and Basements

Since Warly came out with more food types, I would like you guys to add bigger ice box with more slots. I love Warly and im usualy planting many food types. When I collect everything, i have to place all good stuff in 3 ice boxes atleast and bundle some stuff for later.

Another thing I would like in DST is Basements. Basically its creates a seperate underground room where is chilly and no weather effects. Including no light. Also food will spoil slower down there. There is also Basement mod curently, but I think it will be awesome if something similar will be added in dst in future :)

Set Bonus

So I was thinking about how set bonuses could be fit into the game to add more uniqueness and require you to put some thought in what equipment you're using. The best thing we have right now to equipment customization is marble armor = tanking, log suits = kiting, nightmare armor = i'm already insane so what the heck etc.

What if using different combinations of equipment gave you bonuses. So for example, using the Thulecite Crown, Thulecite Suit and a Thulecite Club all at the same time gave you a little radiation of light (or a darkness-light kind of like the night-light). The bonuses could obviously be more or less extreme, I'm just thinking off the top of my head and I'm trying to encourage discussion.

It also doesn't have to be for combat purposes only... what if equipping a grass suit and a straw hat simultaneously camouflaged you from grass geckos so you can ambush them (or something else like clip their tail). This example in particular would give players incentive to use the grass suit and straw hat more often. I don't think I've ever seen anybody use a grass suit unless they're rushing clockworks on day 2 and don't want to wait for a science machine (or wicker) to craft a log suit, same for straw hat.

Now this is going to be hard to balance and definitely needs to be well-thought out, but it can add a lot of strategy to play styles and team play. It's also nice to add more customisation. Wolf might actually have to think about which weapon to use rather than just stock-piling 50+ dark swords

P.S forgot to mention that there are obviously some problems with this, the biggest one being that there isn't an equipment counterpart for every item (no nightmare helmet to go with the nightmare armor etc... idk how else to word this sorry lol)

Drying Rack With Increased Size

A giant drying racking, with only 1 meat (or something) hanging in the air, which was used to be fine with me, now seems a waste.

I wish drying rack can hang more than 1 items. Maybe it's an upgraded version of drying rack, with two slots, like upgraded walls, idk, so it can hang 1 meat and 1 kelp, maybe.

Maxwell, the Shadow Caster - (rework concept)

-Rework Concept-

Maxwell (William Carter)

Firstly, I know that Maxwell is one of the best characters in the game already, however be one of the best characters in the game doesn't necessarily makes him perfect and what is not perfect always can be improved. Reworks have as goal make the character more UNIQUE (inviting) and DYNAMIC (enjoyable).
Said that, I want to make it clear that the rework idea I've created for him change MUCH the way he works currently, Maxwell works outstandinly well currently for what he was proposed but I wanna give him something that translate better his personality and plot.

The concept base which I chose to focus to achieve the final result was:

-Comodity
-Dark Magic
-Manipulation

-COMPLEXITY
(Maxwell itself is one of the most complex characters and also one of the most important, I wanted to embrace the challenge of reflect this in his playability, so wait for a character that will NOT be begginer friendly).

 POSITIVE PERKS 

-Sanity Regeneration: The passive sanity regeneration of Maxwell is totally suitable, seeing that among all the characters he is possibly the person with most knowledge from the Constant as he was the king from that place for a considerable time so you can add the fact that he doesn't let himself be intimidated so easily by the wild and ominous beings or ambience from that world.

-Umbral Manipulation (NEW): Maxwell can imprison in his codex umbra the shadow creatures with 25% or less of life (Crawling Horror e Terrorbeak), later Maxwell will be able to alter their wild proprieties to use them as a catalyzer for his new creations. The Maxwell's "Umbral Manipulation" new mechanic allows him to capture and imprison shadow creatures for later use as material for his new creations. When possible to imprison them the shadows will feature a distortion aspect and by clicking in the creature it will be quickly swallowed inside the book recovering Maxwell's sanity in 15. While carrying the book in the inventory, in the superior right side of the screen will be displayed the quantity of Crawling Horror and Terrorbeak the Codex Umbra has imprisoned, so yes, the creatures are imprisoned and connected to the Codex Umbra and not Maxwell, it is possible to have 20 of each creature imprisoned in the Codex Umbra.

-Codex Umbra (REWORK): The Codex Umbra becomes an equipable item (as happens with the tomes in The Forge), while equipped the book gives to Maxwell access to the Shadow Tab which can be used to cast his creations. Like other equipments The Codex Umbra also has a lifespan losing its power in 10% on each use, is possible to recharge the book in 20% using Nightmare Fuel or leaving it near a nightmare fissure during the nightmare cicle in the ruins (that way its power is recovered in 20% for each 3 seconds). It's possible to attack with the book however, although not losing durability the damage will be only 5.

-Dark Knowledge (NEW): Maxwell starts with all the knowledge from prestihilator, a perk that will not aggregate so much as the others but was created to be storywise, nothing more fair that the dethroned king has knowledge from shadow magic which the others doesn't have just like Wickerbottom has knowledge from science.

 NEGATIVE PERKS 

-Extremely Squishy: The 75 HP attribute... fair enough principally given his new potential.

-Regenerative Intolerance (NEW): Abusing from shadow magic gave Maxwell a more powerful and tough mind, unfortunately the same can't be said for the body. Over time Maxwell slowly cultivated a considerable intollerance to any kind of healing, all the healing Maxwell receives from any source is reduced to 2/3.

And now I will talk about the two factors that aren't exactly a negative perk however they were key parts to allow me to work with more innovation for Maxwell, the elimination of the Logger and Digger puppets, yes I've DELETED the best puppet of Maxwell and I will explain the reason. Delete the logger puppet opened doors for me to work with a new concept and also gave to Woodie's rework more relevance, Woodie and Maxwell currently shares the same role (even that not completely) and even that Woodie have more coherence with this role Maxwell totally overshadows him, well, in this rework this will no happen anymore because now I gave to Woodie all the exclusive deforestation power he always desired to have.
The digger puppet was always seen as a support for the logger, so doesn't make much meaning to keep it without the main puppet, deleting this puppet also gave me more space to create other things.


Finally comes the best part, where I show the new options and how each one will work.

Maxwell have now access to 8 creations through the Codex Umbra.

Ps: The puppets keeps fragmenting Maxwell's sanity while alive

The creations are separated as roles:

I can't find any other resource that are so consistent with him than Nightmare Fuel itself.
I came to a cost that I found very decent principally added the higher difficult for Maxwell players to heal now.

By creating the Nightmare Rose Maxwell chooses a place to plant it, the Nightmare Rose will emanate a powerful insanity aura of -400 per minute (the same as Deerclops) that will persist for 1 day. This creation will help make players insane. 

Dark Cloak [Defense]

Crawling Horror x 3

"Despair wraps me"

Maxwell weaves a shadow cloak that will wrap him for 1 day, any hostile creature near enough of Maxwell will be taken by a inescapable sense of horror and will run in the opposite direction for 3 seconds (doesn't affect bosses). I decided to create a whole new and unique defense system for Maxwell that will help him deal with creatures at close range.

Dark Bubble [Defense]
Nightmare Fuel x 1
Terrorbeak x 3

"And again I am untouchable"

A dark bubble covers Maxwell, Maxwell will be protected completely from 5 stances of damage (unconventional sources of damage like overheating or freezing stills affecting him and will not affect the bubble). The bubble doesn't stacks and will only be renewed. An option more powerful for defense however more limited and expansive.

Night Archer [Attack]
Nightmare Fuel x 2
Crawling Horror x 2
Terrorbeak x 2
-25% sanity meter

"Go for the eyes"

Archer Status
75 Life
45 of damage each 2.5 seconds

Maxwell summons an archer puppet to support him in battle, the puppet will attack any creature hostile towards Maxwell or any creature that Maxwell attacks and will always try to create a distance from the target before procceed with the attack.
It is possible to have only 1 Night Archer alive.
A puppet created to help Maxwell in combat, have a reasonable damage with a good cooldown between the attacks.

Maxwell summons a mage puppet to support him in battle, the puppet will attack any creature hostile towards Maxwell or any creature that Maxwell attacks and will always try to create a distance from the target before procceed with the attack. The attack of this puppet is AOE and the appearance and animation is Maxwell with Meteor Staff from The Forge (or from The Lost Fragment mod by Klei).
It is possible to have only 1 Night Meteor Mage alive.
A puppet much more expansive with a more powerful but slow attack, this one will be better for bosses fight.

Maxwell becomes a shadow magic caster with unique and expansive options and the rework creates a lot of rotation of Nightmare Fuel from Max preventing any Nightmare Fuel farm abuse. The necessity for constant battle with shadow creatures to acquire resources and know when to spend them is the main reason to put him away from beginners and making him one of the most hard characters to play, but also one of the most satisfying (maybe?).

This is my concept, I've created this 3 months ago, much ideas was discarded until this point, certainly I will not please everyone but I would like to share how could be the rework for my favourite character looking from a different perspective besides only farm, farm, farm... He was the king from the constant, he certainly could do more than just get wood and rocks more faster than the others.

Now this is just a very very VERY tinie tiny little suggestion. and i'mma put a poll on it as well. I know i am 4 years behind this but still. 

Ever since 6 feet under, an update that came out when caves (the DS caves) was in under development. they also changed krampus texture from this:

To this:

White eyes and purple mouth instead of green.

And I kind of honestly want to know why? Not to mention. the world customization still has green eyes and pupils, and in the Wortox cinematic he also has (mostly yellowish) greenish eyes with pupils. So it still feels like it exists but then its just different in-game. as if they still want it in.

To me, i feel like this change was unnecessary. It made krampus more look out of this world, and different from all the other creatures instead of the white eyes like almost any creature has. 

Honestly this is nitpicking but i just kind of want it back. and it is such a little change that it really couldn't hurt to revert it back could it?

What do you guys think?

Tallbirds

Hey Klei, got a new suggestion for you!

Usualy when you generating a new world, there is a chance that you will get only one tallbird nest or two, like my current world, if you are not using server mod "Setpiece config" which gives 100% chance that your world will have a tallbird fortress. Usualy those tallbird nests are located in meteor field and there is a chance that meteor will hit it eventuly and burn last nest down, like in my prewious worlds. Then you no longer have any nests in your world, its not a huge deal to spawn one back using console commands, but i would love another way how to get a new nest. I know u can raise smallbird which is very hard, hard to keep him alive till he grows up. If you have hound traps and you are running from hounds, then its a big chance that you will kill small bird there aswell. Because you cant leave them inside closed pen and go far away, they will instantly teleported to you. So my first suggestion is, they should not teleport to a player if small birds are left offscrean. I think raising tallbirds is pointless, baby siting and feeding them for multiple days and after they grow up, they start attacking you. So my second suggestion is, if you raise smallbird to fully grown tallbird, it should create a new nest there :)

Not sure if you read suggestions, but if you do, I hope you like this one and maybe someday use it! :)

What should I do for DLC?

Hello, I am new to the DST Community. I will soon be purchasing Don't Starve Together for my friend and I to play together. However, with my purchase of the game I would like to purchase Wortox and maybe Wormwood, however I have specific items i want to purchase at a budget.

I would like to get both Wortox and his Uncorrupted Skin, but spending the least. I have no idea how I should do this, whether I should buy the Wortox Deluxe Chest or Buy the Wortox Chest and the Wortox Uncorrupted Skin. I also have heard of a method where you go on the steam community shop and buy multiple distinguished items and unravel them to weave Wortox and his skins. I ask you to give me suggestions.(This is my first time using forums mainly and i have no idea if im doing this right so i apologize if i am doing this wrong!)

Klei, can u please modify the longevity of the mushlights providing light to more than 6 days, it is always a hassle to restock them with bulbs making the drops from the boss of having the highest hp in the game close to being one of the useless drops from bosses. At least extend it to 15-20days, so that even if the toadstool drop is purely for decoration at least it will not be a trouble to place bulbs for them, so that we can be satisfied.

I wish "Item Collection" option showed the last dozen skins on "Recent Discoveries" so I dont have to keep count of them every week by remembering or writing them down. The next suggestion is about about Warly's stuff bad preview because it's hard to see where exactly they are placed, specially for base building.

It wouldn't be cool if in winter, the water freezes and everything.  I had this idea when I was in the bathroom, and I wanted to share, I personally really like Don't Starve Together, and I'm really enjoying this update, since I didn't want to buy shipwreckd anyway, so just giving you an idea.

What about som new character who can swim in the new ocean, he will overheat faster, but, when wet, he gain sanity, aaaaand, he can fish in pounds without a dishing road, and maybe he could just do an animation by when he encounter a fish in the ocean and catch it. Dunno, i just looked at Pinterest and see an art of an ugly character idea. It was very ugly.

Request to Klei Servers! Variation of starting parameters

Hey! Been playing a lot on the Klei Servers and especially the DST 20 person servers. But what I'd love to see is more variation in the starting parameters of games. The DST 20 person servers are all "lots flint" and default everything else. Besides the few specialty Klei servers, all the other Klei servers are default parameters.

 

Please could we get some interesting variations? A harder type would have fewer needed materials, or more spiders/merms/clockworks. Or variations in the caves. A more chill server could have more basic resources. Pretty please?

Ancient Guardian rework/visual update

So I've been thinking lately about a few things. I've taken issue with how certain older bosses don't really stand up to the glory of the newly added ones. For example, a Deerclops feels like just a larger mob or a miniboss at best, when you compare it with Klaus. I ended up coming up with ideas on how to improve the original Giants and making them more of a threat, so that you get that feeling that you're facing a dangerous boss monster.

That made me think about Ancient Guardian/Minotaur. It's... basically a Rook, except bulkier, faster, and obviously it deals more damage. While it was something for the old standards, nowadays he feels... very uninteresting and underwhelming. After all, the Ruins are intended to be this endgame location, very deep into the caves where not many adventurers dare to step foot into. It's supposed to be a high risk, high reward area, full of powerful ancient knowledge and items, but also full of dangerous encounters. I believe Ancient Guardian in particular could use a rework, as he's basically the final boss of that area, and the final step before being able to face off the current final boss of the game - the Ancient Fuelweaver.

Inside the Ruins' Labyrinth lies an arena in the center. It looks like it was specifically created for fighting purposes, with a graveyard nearby to bury the ones who didn't emerge victorious. The Ancient Guardian should be the champion of this arena. He could take more on the "minotaur" part of his concept (since that is his prefab and the entire area is a reference to greek mythology), and become a bipedal warrior. Here's a concept I came up with:

It's heavily based on The Grand Forge Boarrior, as its posture and behavior is very fitting of the concept of a minotaur that's purpose is to protect the Ruins. It would also allow Klei to reuse a lot of assets that they already have, and give the underappreciated Ancient Guardian some new attacks to spice the battle up.

Ancient Guardian could be asleep until the player enters the area; that's when the beast would wake up and immediately start pursuing it. During the fight, it would swing one of the Thulecite Clubs, and at lower HP thresholds he would turn it into several hit combos. He should occasionally also perform the spin attack, just like Boarrior started doing when below 50%HP.

I know this is might be a very bold and ambitious idea, and no matter how great it might be, the chances of implementing it are rather low. Still, I believe it's good to dream a bit, so I'd love to hear the feedback of the community!
