This would be a plus for tamed beefalo. Obviously you could track animals faster but you also will already be on the beefalo for combat and generally seems like it would enhance the sense of comradery with the player.
Follow Dirt Tracks while Riding Beefalo
Please klei make server admins to let friends to launch server
Seriously i would really love to see my friends play while im offline like they dont need to wait for me to be online so they can play. Can you please add this feature to playstation :,(
mod management and endless renewal of resources
I have quite a bunch of suggestions.
lets start off with mod management on server side stuff. I would like to have a check box or a tab to only show me mods thats are being used by the server.
This will help me with management of mods on my server. like there is a tab with all mods.
Another idea is to have another tab with selected mods that can be move in and out of it. All the currently enabled mods will be in this tab with additionally added but disabled mods in it. This will make mod management so much helpful!
Also endless there many somethings that need to be regenerated in the world. for endlessness and such. like the ruins, for an example, can be cleared out and never be the same again. There is manythings i cannot remember from the top of my head...
there is no easy way for me to update mods on my server either.
Bird Features
After a coincidental camera angle looking like it was already happening, it looks natural to have birds perched on the moon dial, since it is basically a bird bath. They could splash around in it with the existing wing flap animation. Another related feature could be craftable bird houses. Just general ideas: Make the player unable to place birds in it directly, but birds are attracted to/can eggs in/near them.
Cat people?
I have latency to be the host of a server and to be a player, on the server of my friends.
I am from Argentina and all my colleagues also, all living close to each other. And yet no matter who the host is, it gives us lag upon entering. (we are 5 players). All with a connection much greater than 10 megabytes. I do not speak much English. And even to my colleagues my latency appears in ???... I do not know what can be.
More idle/giving-live animation
I think that the game would feel more life-like if some creatures would have more idle animation. I'm pretty sure that everyone loves new animations.
Here are some of my thoughts/ideas:
-(idea) Durring full moon idle hounds could start howling. Players would be able to hear howling no matter how far thay are from hounds, something like a full moon ambiance.
-(idea) Spiders should act more like a mini vicious predator: turning their body/heads around lookinig for prey, cleaning their teeth with tongue or leg. And I think that giving them blinking animation, that typical spider blinking animation would fit just right.
-(thought) Maybe some sort of shadow transformation for monkeys and ruins statues other then just Mr. Skits appearing, covering them and boom now they're in their shadow form.
-(thought) Idle Treeguard shaking off some leaves off their arm or something like that.
-More harmless shadow creatures. Yep. If someone is insane they deserve a: drowning shadow hand in the sea/ponds. Weird shadow people looking at them from behind a tree or a rock and then hiding when player gets too close.
Equipable bernie
Allow Willow to equip bernie as a cosmetic feature , a simple melee weapon; something more than a decoy please...
Beefalo racing event
The Don't Starve Together discord was joking about a future event of racing with gokarts(like me suggesting a hearse for Wendy or Maxwell) but then it changed to beefalo racing. Sounds like a pretty cool concept for the future.
Make Maxwell's shadow puppets perform the other dances too
Maxwell seems to have learned a few new moves, but his backup dancers shadow puppets haven't. When using one of the new dance emotes the puppets just come and do the normal dance. It would be nice to see them do the same dance as Maxwell.
Ice/Fire Staff Buff
After considering it as an actual option, I had to go to the wiki to check if it was actually a feature since it makes perfect sense.
Frantically trying to gather melting icebergs in summer for an ice flingomatic, I wanted to use a blue gem I had to craft an ice staff to freeze the glaciers back to get enough ice.
Each use could reform the glacier one stage, making ice obtainable in summer. Doesn't this just make sense?
Werebeaver needs a buff
I initially posted this on the steam forums, but thought it would be better to post it here as well
---------------------------------
Firstly, I'd like to say that Woodie is a fun character to play. Although far from being top tier, his quirkiness makes him fun to play imo. Currently, I feel that his werebeaver form is in need of some work, to balance out the pros with the cons, and set Woodie aside as a character that is useful in his own right and not just a less powerful, higher hp Maxwell.
So, before listing any suggested changes, I'm going to list the werebeaver's qualities, sorted by, what I consider to be, positive neutral & negative traits.
Pros
- Chops trees quickly (signature perk)
- night vision (probably the strongest perk)
- infinite durability all rounder tool (limited by log meter, though)
- no hunger drain
Neutral
- 10% speed boost: although this seems like a perk, you lose the ability to equip items (see cons). Not having the ability to equip speed boosting items like the walking cane and magiluminescence actually renders this perk somewhat moot
- 240 overheating/freezing insulation: transforming drops your equipped items, which would likely be insulation items easily equal to 240 in Summer/Winter seasons.
Cons
- no access to map
- Forced transformation (full moon)
- fast log meter drain - threat of log meter stravation (full moon)
- can't equip items and low damage & damage resist (useless for combat)
- can't interact with or view inventory (no access to sanity or health management tools)
- can't pick up or interact with items on the ground
- no sanity management (although sanity loss can be a positive, if one wishes to be insane to farm nightmare fuel, and Woodie makes up for it with Sanity management with pinecone planting, he has no way of actually managing sanity while in werebeaver form)
- can't use wormholes
- can't enter sinkholes (cave entrance)
While I understand that the Werebeaver form offers a risk-reward type benefit, I feel that it is too limited in its funcionality and people are often demotivated from transforming at all, due to the limited functionality and cons that go with it. My hope is that with some tweaking, this form will become more viable.
My suggested changes:
- access to map
- able to pick up items
- having walking cane in inventory passively boosts werebeaver speed by 20%
- increased log meter drain for non full moon transformations: this is mostly intended to offset the increase in power.
- able to interact with wormholes & sinkholes (mostly a quality of life improvement)
- dusk has same amount of lighting as night (currently dusk is darker than night with Werebeaver nightvision)
I feel like the above mentioned would be adequate changes. I also feel like this keeps the werebeaver in line with what seems to be the intended design of a non-combatant, resource gatherer.
However, should not all of the above be implemented, other potential changes to be considered could be:
- equipped items do not drop. damaged & damage resist get set to the value of equipped weapons/armour. Insulation values are added to the base value of 240.
- increased damage to nightmare creatures (only if above items damage boost is not implemented)
- can interact with items on ground ie reset tooth traps
- can interact with items in inventory: ie consume food & healing items
That is about all I can think of. I am hoping that this post is seen by the devs and taken into consideration.
I would be interested to hear other community members opinion on the matter and what changes they would like to see, if any.

Willow
I'd love to see the player statistics and player time statistics of the various characters to see who gets and doesn't get play, but let's talk about Willow, again. I know, I know. It's been done a lot, maybe even to death, but if you don't want to read ANOTHER thread about Willow, GOOD NEWS! There's other threads! I know, WEIRD! You can just ignore this one. It is actually possible, I know. I've done it!
Anyhow, so, Willow is broken. By now we all know her abilities and weaknesses, and she's boring sauce. Sorry, she is, so, no long arguments for or against (at least for now), let's just get to the brass tacks.
1) "Has a sweet lighter."
Give Willow her Lighter back. Willow should start the game with Willow's Lighter in her inventory. It should have no durability. It should restore her sanity at +10 Sanity/Min (edit: as she was in DS). If Willow drops her lighter and a character other than Willow picks it up (or if the Willow that picks it up already has a Willow's Lighter), it becomes a normal torch. If Willow has no Lighter, when the player makes a Torch or picks up a torch, it magically becomes Willow's Lighter. (also, no cooking on a Lighter, that's just stupid...)
2) "Immune to fire damage."
Give Willow her Fire Immunity back. Willow should have 100% immunity to fire. Fire is a rare damage source that makes the immunity an extremely niche power, and requires a lot of time and investment in order to leverage (ie: fire farms). The Firefly fight is the only fight where her fire immunity could give Willow's player any real advantage, otherwise fire is a very dangerous weapon, because it tends to destroy loot.
3) "Lights fires when nervous."
Give Willow her Pyromania back. Willow should set random fires when low on Sanity. I know, this is desperately unpopular, but hear me out here. One, fire mechanics in DST are a LOT different than they were in DS. Fires spread slowly, and provide a lot of time for players to get out of the way or fight fires, if they want. Tech like Fling-o-matics help protect bases and other critical resources from fires, so her negative is manageable...
4) I honestly don't care what you do with Bernie the Bear. Dump it. Keep it. Whatever...
Okay, that's what I'm asking, what I'm offering...
1) Willow's Lighter. To get the Lighter, maybe, like Wigfrid won't eat anything but meat, Willow won't use Torches. So if the player wants a light source better than her Lighter, they'll have to make a Mining Hat or a Lantern, but torches are just out for Willow. Also @ZorrerTheZmith suggested that torches should burn out faster when Willow is using them. Maybe torches burn brighter, but lots faster for Willow, making her infinite Lighter much more efficient for her?
2) Willow's Fire Immunity. Maybe, Willow takes Sanity damage from cold, making Winter harder, or wet, making Spring and rain significantly harder. Alternatively, because this could create problems with her Pyromania, she gets slower when cold or wet, but this could replace her pyromania fire setting.
3) Willow's Pyromania. Maybe Willow's Flames are cold, rather than hot. Maybe rather than spreading, she merely burns things that are valuable, not merely flammable, causing it to break into Ash, Charcoal, and maybe component gold or gems, obviously fewer than were necessary to replace whatever she burned. Perhaps the fire she starts at low Sanity is a black flame that sprouts shadow crawlers, etc. Maybe she sets alot of endothermic fires that cool her down, but don't spread. There's a lot of alternatives, but she needs to "start fires". A pyromaniac that doesn't start fires is like a kleptomaniac that doesn't steal. It's NORMAL.
4) Bernie, again, I don't care. I really don't like the Bernie thing, but I'm indifferent.
Basically, the long of it is this: Willow sucks.
1) She doesn't do anything that anyone else can't do. Wigfrid and Wolfgang are the undisputed power combat characters. Wickerbottom and Maxwell are the best utility characters. Even Wendy is great at farming spiders.
2) Willow's Lighter is QUICKLY obsolete. Crockpots make vastly better food than cooking on her Lighter, and Firepits are a day 3-4 thing. The materials needed to make her Lighter are more valuable for other things, Torches are too easy to make and a better light source. By the time materials (gold) are disposable to make a replacement Lighter, the Lantern and Miner Hat both provide VASTLY superior and are easily refuelable. The ONLY advantage Willow's Lighter has is Sanity maintenance, and it does so badly. Remove its durability.
3) Fire Immunity is part of what made "The Firestarter" unique. Giving her "fire resistance" is like giving away a new used car on a game show. "Well, it's new to you, right!" just isn't the same. Don't Thrift Shop me, bro.
4) Willow's pyromania is a challenge. I get it. It's unpopular in a group play setting. Characters like Wigfrid's only downside is technically an upside for everyone else (one less person eating from the farms). But, once again, having a pyromaniac that doesn't actually set fires isn't a pyromaniac. It's kind of necessary to pyromania. You can't call Willow "The Firestarter" if she doesn't actually start any fires. Fix it.
5) Also, I'd still like to see a "Classic Characters" option in the Server settings, that allows hosts and players play DST with the original DS style characters.
#MakeWillowGreatAgain
-Fist-
PS4 needs bigger worlds. We need a huge option.
It's really weird that we only have one bigger option than the standard.
This is something that would be greatly appreciated because we seriously run out rocks.
Ideas for Characters (because Klei clearly doesn't have any)
I kid, I kid...How's everyone enjoying that Winona character tho XD.
Anyway, I'm bored, so here's some characters
Two-Headed
So sticking with the Gothic nature of the game and also the circus characters, I was thinking of something like Bette and Dot Tattler from America Horror Story. So a character with two heads, has two brains, but has one heart and stomach like other players.
The downside, is that the character has two sanity bars to deal with, one corresponding to each head. If one head goes crazy, even if the other isn't, they will get attacked by sanity monsters regardless. Each head can wear a hat, so if you want both of them to have good sanity, then you will have to have two hats; one for each head.
However, the major upside is that each head can wear a different hat. So for fighting in difficult seasons, this is really useful. You can wear armour on one head, while wearing cold, heat, rain or sanity protection on the other. So for example, when fighting in Summer, you no longer have to worry about overheating, as you can have a Football Helmet on one head and an Eyebrella on the other one.
And if you are a skilled player, and temperature and sanity aren't ever an issue, you can forget all about that, and just wear two Football Helmets, one on each head, and double your protection points.
Also, maybe each head is voiced by a different instrument.
Nightvision/Can't survive Daylight Character (maybe Wortox)
So this a character who would mostly be used for caves (and would spawn there), but a skilled player could manage to survive in the surface by using an Eyebrella or an Umbrella. I don't want to make him a vampire, because that's lame as hell, but mechanically it would be like a vampire. He sees and walks through the darkness without any harm, while sunlight kills him instantly (or maybe looses health rapidly).
I like the idea that if you are fighting this guy in the caves, staying in those sunlight spots would make you untouchable (it be essentially like the episode of Doctor Who, the one in the library), and I like that when you are at your fire pits at night, he can pop out of the darkness and surprise attack you. Like literally, he could be watching you from the darkness...To me that's really cool.
Moleman
First off, he'll be freaking adorable (he'd look like a little human version of a Moleworm) and his ability would be to jump and dig (move) underground, immune from attacks (except for Charlie) just like a moleworm. Mining gives him a sanity boosts, as well as being in the caves. Also, moving about by digging would make him faster than other characters.
I haven't though of any downsides yet...Maybe limited visibility at day? Because he is a mole, but that sounds more frustrating than fun, but maybe if he wears Fashion Goggles he can see better.
Synergy would be good for this character. He can transport resources quickly and easily to players, and being ever to outrun characters by digging after them, would make him a useful PVP companion.
Anyway, I had some other ideas, but they aren't that well formed. So that's all.
More character quotes?
Is it just me, or does anyone else get annoyed when Wilson says "it's all piney" for the 10000'th time? This kind of thing really ticks me off, as I think that the characters quotes should develop depending on how many time's they've examined something, or just change every once and a while. I dunno, maybe they could even hold little conversations with one another sometimes ( about what a nice day it is or other trivial things like that ). Yes I know that would take a lot of work, but they all just feel so lifeless at the moment, and need a little extra personality added. Or maybe I'm just weird.
Could someone please move this to suggestions and edits? I put it in the wrong thing.
Kick delay
Hi all,
I would like suggest to add a delay that prevents kicked players from coming back after few DST day. I play DST since about 300h and, often, a player burn our base, on public servers. We kick him but he come back again and again to destroy our base.
You could add a kick delay increasing according to the number of times where we kick him.
e.g. first kick : guy can't come back after 1 DST day, second kick : can't come back after 2 DST day, 3 kick : delay is 4 DST day, 4 kick : delay is 8 DST day, and so on.
Thanks and have a good day,
Crabbit Mini-Pet?
My first and favorite thing about the DS universe are Crabbits. They just make me smile. I love the sounds they make and their design
...could...could we get a Crabbit mini-pet for DST?
Walfred New Character suggestion
Hey guys, Here is my suggestion for a new Character.
Name: Walfred
Lore: He was a miner in a old gold mine in desert and he is insane about gold
Appearance: He is a old man. with white hairs and a long beard. He i wearing blue pants with suspenders. also he got a red shirt
Perks:
+ He loves to be in caves ( sanity goes up a little bit when in caves).
+ He start with a special miner helmet / pickaxe without durability | Can make own tunnel to the caves. | Can make dynamites [ideas for perks]
+ Sanity goes up when he picks gold.
+ Little bit easier in the summer.
Cons:
- He is weak to the wetness because he was living always in desert
- He is really old so he walks slow.
- How more gold in your inventory how faster sanity goes down.
- Problems with teethes eating meat takes little bit health.
Secret: GOLD RUSH ( no idea how this can work)
Tell me what do you think about this character?
