New Character - Winston the Steampunk

So, I was thinking about characters, and thought about this guy! 

Name: Winston

Title: The Steampunk

Health: 175

Sanity: 200

Hunger: 75

Description:

Loves the steamy rain

Works up an appetite

Has a nice boiler

Perks:

• Gains Sanity in rain, due to steam.

• Gets 10 Sanity for crafting an item.

• Can craft Alchemy Engine items in rain.

• Exclusive Item: Boiler - Can be filled at a pond or lake and used to create rain for 1 Day. It has 3 uses.

  *Crafting: 2 Cut Stones

                  1 Electric Doodad

                  3 Rope

Cons:

• Loses 5 Hunger whenever something is crafted.

• Low max hunger.

• Loses Sanity from heat.

• Only eats vegetables.

Endothermic Torch and Endothermic Fires

I was thinking how in Winter if you start to freeze you could just light a fire and then it would be all better. In summer, I understand Thermal Stones chill at night, but what if you were on an expodition far from base, your floral shirt spoils. Your Whirley Fan breaks. You’re in a desert so there are no flowers. You have 10 health left and you’re the last player alive. You’re on day 17462 and you have a huge empire built. You die from overheating and the world is lost. This is why I think they should have an endothermic torch that could set endothermic fires as well as provide light. It would be pretty simple to craft.

1 Nitre

1 Grass

And there you go! You can live to see day 17463!!! Hooray!!

 

Rhino In the "Hunt Surprices"

I think it will be great if the "Hunt Surprices" add Rhino in the list, make it more fun cause i'm get bored with those Koalephant - Varg - Ewecus - Koalephant - Varg - Ewecus. It will drop the "thick skin", for new armor recipes "Rhino Suitcase".

The Rhino are attrected with fire, it will stomping to extinguish the fire, reduce the brightness.

I saw a bug report on this and thought maybe it'd be cool if we could switch the priorities between items or symbols somehow?

Reset skin count on "Chest Event"?

When the event started yesterday I had already collected the 4 skin drops, so it feels like I'm missing out on some chances for event chests that other players have for being less active. Is it possible to reset skin count after launch if this situation happens again?

Maybe the event was planned to launch Thursday, but was pushed early because of this.

I feel as if that people on consoles don’t feel any progression in the trade inn for the fact that pc users can buy presents. I believe that if console users would be able to buy presents it be a profit for Klei. I feel envy when I watch people on pc just buying skins when I have to wait for a chance to get them something cool they can brag to with friends. It kinda feels like us console players are in the dark and are getting ignored a bit and pc gets all the cool stuff and we just make do with what we have and it sucks. So please Klei let us be able to buy presents and other pc exclusive events so we can feel like we can progress in the trade inn

This is something that would be really good to have, so people can trade their event only skins, since those items arent marketable, they will only be able to trade them in-game for another Event only skin.

Alright pal boys. I just bought all them there new winta feasts skins and i'm a bit disappointed that wilson doesn't have a white beard, completing his entire "wris wringle" look.

As shown here,you can see that he grows a fully scribble black beard, adding a weird contrast between his frosty tips and his face keratin.

2018 sounds busy but it could be plausible for a Holiday skinset for characters to look like gingerbread men. If you want to continue the theme for a future year, may I suggest food skins like the painter giuseppe arcimboldo. Might be complex but Don't Starve simplifies things pretty well that its a art form.

Allow opening chests in-game when we get them

It's quite annoying that we can't open our chests ingame and have to leave to do so, so I was thinking if it's possible, we should be able to hit that "Use Now" when we get a chest to open it in-game, so we don't have to leave or even shut down our server just for some clothes.

In his new skin his beard is still black which makes it really weird looking. I think most of us would prefer if it was white. This isn't really a big deal but I felt like getting this out here.

Possibly bring back The Forge skins once again?

So The Forge officialy ended back on december 4th but now i´ve noticed that many people on public, group etc. servers keep complaining about how they were unable to obtain the forge skins that they wanted either due to lack of funds or innabilty to play during The Forge, many people seem to be really upset and ´´Salty´´ about their loss of said limited time skins, what i and many other request is that for a short period of time or even in the future once you may or may not bring back The Forge, to make the skins once again purchasable, or a better and much more widely agreeable alternative to this would be obtaining the skins via crafting or once again making them weavable (give the skins the option to be created with spools once again if some are unfamiliar with the term)

Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read this, and for any devs out there reading this, great job on The Forge event, we had lots of fun.

Allow crafting of previous event chests at Trade-Inn

Like the old recipes that never made it in, allow us to make chests as part of a special offer throughout the year, maybe requiring say red skins for forge, blue for winter's feast, black for a curio chest - thus allowing us to get the skins by turning these skins into chests

 

Perhaps bring back the scrapped Shadow Curio trader? He seemed interesting, maybe he could allow you to make chests? 9 Common - Curio Chest (generic)

9 Red Classy/Higher - Pugna, 9 Blue Classy/Higher - Winter's Feast & so on.

For example if I buy a 7.19 Snowfallen Set in the UK, I'd be able to trade it to someone before I open it. (Clops chest)

Same with a 1.99 set (Klaus chest)

 

This would allow us to buy them as gifts without making the skins tradable + Allow me & others to collect even more chests, meaning more money for Klei

We could add Don't starve together for Android and ios it could cost less but there will be more buyers and u get profit and we get the game and u get the money. Fair for us and u. Also there is more phone users than steam users also I could be ur first Don't starve together buyer on android. please don't add it first on iOS then android because u can't profit much.

Modding Functionality: Ground elevation/Falloff/Waves customisation + Subsymbol/Hand swapping

I saw the Forge trailer & thought maybe it'd be cool if we were able to make higher elevated ground in our setpieces, such as making the Forge trailer more akin to the real thing by putting it in a pit at sea level, with high ground around it.

 

Another thing would be the ability to change the falloff or waves of tiles using new tiles, perhaps on different layers? BG_FALLOFF or BG_WAVES or BG_WALLS for things like Cave walls.

 

And last of all, subsymbol and/or swapping, such as swapping hand-10 with the matching symbol in swap_thing - Allowing us to make all kinds of new items + even better still would be the ability to swap left hands' items or right hands' items, so we could dual wield certain things or hold a spear & shield, things like that. However, this means the sprite-flipping nature of DS would probably have to be reworked with workarounds or removed entirely, which may not be quite worth it.

Character Illness

Feeling somewhat under the weather myself, I was thinking that maybe adding a character illness feature might make the game a bit more challenging. Illness / sickness can be acquired randomly (probably after surviving for at least x amount of days - or for certain encounters - such as digging graves or spending too much time in swamps (with merms).

The sickness can be a basic modifier that periodically damages the player - for instance causing 10 dmg / day, or some other form of hindrance - such as impaired movement speed. It has to be something that is subtle enough so as not to take top priority, but annoying enough to get players to deal with.

In the case of receiving periodical damage, the player can ignore for a while and simply heal themselves through food or such (10 damage takes a while to kill off someone), but can be annoying and request attention. Now to heal from this affliction, you can for instance, either link one specific food from the crockpot or introduce a new item specifically to cure. This of course can evolve to having it's own medication tab, with medicines for the various ailments that can be developed, but that's probably too far.

Saving Outfits (Skins)

It would be nice with all the items now available if we could save outfits; I mean the arrangement of a character's head, chest, legs, hands and feet. If you have several items, it would be nice to save Outfit 1, 2, etc to easily switch between whole outfits of clothes for each character. Pretty please?
